Delete your Coparenta account

Citește în română →This page explains how to delete your account in the Coparenta app — the app for coordinating child custody between separated or divorced parents — and what happens to your data afterwards. You can request deletion in two ways: directly in the app, or by email.
How to request account deletion
Method 1 — in the app (recommended)
- 1Open the Coparenta app on your phone.
- 2Go to Settings.
- 3Tap Delete account and confirm. Your account is deleted immediately.
Method 2 — by email
If you no longer have access to the app, send a request from your account’s email address to contact@coparenta.ro with the subject “Delete account”. We verify your identity and delete the account within a maximum of 30 days.
What data is deleted
Your account, email, profile, IBAN, and notification tokens are deleted. Notifications from Coparenta stop. Journal notes marked private are deleted. Files are deleted in a separate step: we try, but if we can't, a file can remain on the server. This can't be undone.
What stays in the shared space: the schedule, holidays, vacations, handoffs, expenses, shared journal, wishes, health record, the child's routine, events, child support, the conversation (with the photos and documents sent in it), and the reminders you shared. Your days, shared notes, expenses, and events stay under your first name. Some open requests can stay open for the other parent. If you're the last remaining member, the shared space is deleted too.
What is retained and for how long
- Identity deletion — immediate in the app; within a maximum of 30 days if you request by email.
- Technical backups — Database backups are kept for 7 days, then they expire. They hold only the database, not the photos or documents.
- Legal documents (settled expenses, custody decisions) — may be kept for up to 5 years where Romanian tax law requires it, solely for that legal purpose.
- Audit log — The action log stays as long as the shared space exists and is deleted together with it. We don't delete it after a fixed number of days.
