What the app does

From the schedule to everything that comes up around it

The calendar holds the plan. Messages, expenses and the journal keep the context.

At launch

  • The child's schedule

The calendar shows, day by day, which parent the children are with, including public holidays and school breaks.

  • Handovers

The agreed day, time and place. You get a reminder before your turn begins.

  • Day swaps

When something unexpected comes up, you request a change. It enters the calendar only after the other parent confirms it.

  • Shared expenses

Shared expenses and amounts to settle, with filters by type, by child and by period. Child support is tracked separately, marked each month as paid or not.

  • Messages

The family conversation stays beside the schedule instead of being scattered across other apps.

  • Journal

A note about health, school or behaviour can be shared or private. The child profile keeps medical details and daily routine separately.

Are you picking Luca up from school tomorrow, or should I?

I'll get him at 15:30. He took Augmentin 5ml at lunch — I logged it in the journal

The conversation between parents

One day, in concrete terms

On Tuesday evening, Wednesday’s plan changes.

An example from the demo family: Andrei, Ioana, Maria and Luca.

  1. 18:10 · Ioana messages Andrei: Luca, 6, needs collecting from school at 15:30 on Wednesday. Andrei replies and requests the day swap.
  2. 18:14 · The change waits for confirmation. Once Ioana accepts it, Wednesday appears under Andrei in the calendar.
  3. Wednesday · Luca’s antibiotic information stays in the journal. Maria, 9, has her school show in the calendar as an event without changing the schedule.

Who it is for

This isn’t an organizer for every kind of family.

Coparenta is for separated parents coordinating their children's schedule and daily life across two homes. Here, each day needs to be clear to both parents.

Why I built Coparenta

I built Coparenta because I needed it myself. Coordinating children's lives across two homes brings the same questions every week — who is picking them up, who paid, what changed. I wanted the answers to sit in one place.

Works today

Start with the holidays, no account needed.

The calculator builds a five-year plan for holidays and school holidays. It is free and requires no account.

The questions that actually matter

The short answer comes first. Details only where they help.

Will they see where I am and what I'm doing?

No. Coparenta does not track your phone's location. The other parent only sees the information you use in the shared space.

What can I see, and what can the other parent see?

You both see the schedule, the family conversation, shared expenses and journal notes left as shared. A note marked private stays with its author.

If they refuse to join, was my work for nothing?

No. You can start the calendar with your own schedule and add events. The conversation opens as soon as the other parent joins. Day swaps need one more step: setting up the shared schedule together.

What happens if they don't stick to the schedule?

The original schedule and every accepted change stay clear. You can record what happened separately in the journal without rewriting the original plan.

Can anyone else see this, besides the two of us?

You can invite one more person — a grandparent, for example — with view-only access to the week's schedule and to shared journal notes. They join the shared space only after both parents confirm.

Can I export something to show my lawyer?

Yes. From Reports, you can export a PDF for the period and the parenting plan. The documents describe what is recorded in Coparenta; they do not prove time actually spent or serve as court orders.
